Power Transmission Engineer

Type : Direct Hire

Location : Abu Dhabi

Note : Preference will be given to UAE nationals.


Job Purpose
· The Power Transmission Engineer is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance and updating of regulation, codes of operations and standards of transmission network, including planning statements, performance reports and regulations.
· In addition, the Power Transmission Engineer is responsible for monitoring new and existing regulations, code of operations and standards including technical standards, performance and providing feedback on what has worked well.
· The Power Transmission Engineer is responsible for coordinating and supporting the wider Company team in all aspects related to the power transmission networks such as price control, policy development, etc.
· Review of distributions companies water 7 years planning statements
· Review of water transmission annual performance reports
· Be up to date with the sector electricity transmission networks operation and performance.
· Provide technical expertise and advice on water capital and operational engineering and process solutions.
· Develop and maintain systems by which the Company can measure comparative engineering and process performance.
· As part of the Power Regulation Section, oversee the performance and development of the Transmission and Metering codes, as well as other codes and licenses where necessary
· Review and provide guidance to the development of technical standards, regulations and measures
· Development of methodologies for assessment of relevant regulatory submissions for compliance purposes.
· Manage all electricity transmission related incidents and ensure coordinated follow up is implemented.
· Development of key performance indicators and monitor progress.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline e.g. Engineering, etc.

Experience
· 3-5 years of operational and design experience in power sector
· Good understanding of the strategic direction of the Abu Dhabi water sector, the objectives for the sector, the strategic direction of the Department and requirements of key stakeholders
· understanding of the water sector globally, regionally and in Abu Dhabi
· Good understanding of electricity networks and transmission systems
· Good understanding of system planning, operation and maintenance and control
· Understanding of regulatory functions
