Job Purpose

The Construction Manager (Construction Manager – Building) is responsible for managing all on-site construction activities for building projects, ensuring work progress aligns with project plans, specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. The role oversees site operations, leads the construction team, coordinates with subcontractors, and ensures timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
1. Construction Site Management
Supervise and control all construction activities on site to ensure execution as per approved drawings and specifications.
Plan daily site operations and monitor workforce, materials, and equipment.
Ensure availability of resources to meet project schedules.

2. Project Coordination
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure seamless workflow.
Attend and participate in technical and progress meetings.
Liaise with local authorities for inspections and approvals when required.

3. Schedule & Progress Control
Implement construction schedules and ensure adherence to project timelines.
Identify potential delays and develop corrective action plans.
Review weekly and monthly progress reports.

4. Quality Assurance
Ensure construction work meets required quality standards and specifications.
Oversee inspections, testing, and approval processes.
Address and close NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) promptly.

5. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Enforce strict compliance with company safety policies and government regulations.
Conduct safety walk-throughs, toolbox talks, and ensure hazard control measures are in place.
Coordinate with the HSE department to maintain a safe work environment.

6. Cost & Resource Control
Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
Verify and approve material requisitions and delivery checks.
Review and evaluate subcontractor performance and productivity.

7. Leadership & Team Management

Lead and supervise site engineers, foremen, supervisors, and workforce.

Assign tasks, set priorities, and evaluate team performance.

Provide technical guidance to solve site-related issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (master’s preferred).
10–18 years of experience in building construction projects.
Strong experience in medium to large-scale residential, commercial, or industrial buildings.

In-depth knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and standards.
Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, and relevant engineering software.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

UAE/GCC experience preferred (if applicable).
