Financial Accountant-Six Months Contract (Experience in Marine / Ports Sector preferred)
Job Purpose
The purpose of the job is to supervise the documentation team on a day-to-day basis ensuring all invoices are accounted accurately and timely as per the accounting policies of the company

Core Responsibilities
· Accounting and Financial records
§ Review and maintain accruals information
§ Responsible for reviewing & reconciling financial data relating to sub modules
§ Support accounting functions for all submodules
§ Ensure that each billable item, in the system is being properly booked and mapped with correct GL Codes.
§ Adhere to the KPIs set for the team and individually contributing positively to achieving them.
§ Maintain documents and records/references of all financial transactions handled and ensure they are reflected properly in the financial system.
§ Review billing reconciliation for all vessel operations to ensure accurate recording of revenue.
§ Coordinate tariff exception requests, discounts, and other issues.
· Billing & Revenue Process
§ Coordinate in resolving the customer’s issues relating to billing and ensure that the credit limits allocated are maintained.
§ Attend to inquiries from all stakeholders concerning revenue and billing of all services.
§ Adhere to the monthly closing deadlines for invoicing.
§ Coordinate with collection team on payment status of customers
§ Close coordination with Department of Municipal and Transport (DMT) to ensure timely and efficiently issuance of invoices.
· Checks and verifications
- Check completeness, accuracy of inter-company transactions on a timely basis.
- Cross verifies the data input into the system with the transactions entered in the Excel report.

· ERP System
· MIS Reports
· Other Tasks
§ To perform any other related duties as assigned.
§ Maintain documents archive relating to all above responsibilities in a proper condition
Education
· Requires Bachelor level education certification.
· Requires the ability to interpret applicable company policies and procedures, applying them consistently and without discrimination.
Language
Ability to communicate in English (Speaking/Reading).
· Arabic and any additional languages would be deemed an advantage
Requires at least six years of experience in Accounting & Finance or Documentation in transportation or related industry
Requires a general understanding of medium level accounting principles and transactions.
